Don't Tell Me Libya Is The Blame

Prices of gasoline in the US is starting to creep up to the levels found in Europe. I don't believe that the turmoil in the Middle East and the growing demand in Asia is the real cause.

I honestly believe that our domestic Gas Companies are manipulating the price in order to maximize their own profits. Sure there is turmoil in Libya, sure there is a growing demand world wide as China and other growing economies allow their citizens to increase consumption of consumer goods.

But these prices have been creeping up steadily even before the Gulf oil spill and the political turmoil in the Middle East. It's just that now that these headline news occurrences are taking place, they have a obvious scape goat to place the blame.

I am not falling for the BS. You hear the so called industry analyst say that there is no manipulation taking place. BS. That's the same type of crap the Standard & Poor and Moody's watch dogs were telling us when the housing industry was spiraling out of control.

The governmental regulators aren't all that interested either, since the higher the cost of gas, the more viable some of these alternative fuel sources become.

Instead of directly changing the incentives to encourage alternative fuel sources, the government is letting the oil companies rape the consumers and reinvest the profits into more projects that will not bring about a sensible energy solution for this country.

So we will wind up paying high gas prices, and when the alternative fuel sources become available, we will be preconditioned to pay exorbitant prices for those fuels also.

This is not a solution that makes sense, for the average citizen. Maybe the fat cat oil companies thinks this makes sense, but in reality, it's a short term benefit for them too.

Our ability to consume other worthwhile items will be reduced, as well as our ability to save, and invest in even more cost effective alternative fuel solutions.

In the long run we will all suffer.

(From Facebook)

I Recieved this email and found it to make alot of sense. I also think that adding in Petro-Canada into the two major companies would be helpful. There are plenty of places to get gas, Fas Gas, Race Trac Gas, Canadian Tire Gas bars, Extra Foods Gas Bars, logically it should not be very difficult to stay away from those 3 major companies

The Email is as follows:

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this PLEASE.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 2.00 a litre by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $1.17 for regular unleaded in my town. (How about $.25?)

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.14, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies,
ESSO and Shell.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Esso and Shell gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimpout on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ..and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am, so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all in. I suggest that we not buy from Esso and Shell UNTIL 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you!
Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO BELOW THE $1.00 RANGE ANDKEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Im adding this little bit in addition to the email. If the Companies are not selling the things that makes the most PROFIT, Pop, Chips, Lotto Tickets, Car Wash, things lke that they are going to be unhappy campers! they wont last long making less before they start complaining to the oil companies!

We need to declare war against GAS PRICES (natural gas)

Conserve and Unite or Gas Prices may worsen

The winter of 2005 was when I really first started caring about gas prices. It always annoyed me when the NICOR billed arrived but I figured it wasn't that bad and there was nothing to do about it. We must have heat and hot water to survive. It didn't really affect me until I moved into a large farmhouse in 2005. My first bill from NICOR, was higher than before but I had always lived in apartments so I chalked it up to the size of the house. My second bill (which of course arrives rightr after Christman) was ASTRONOMICAL, and basically put me into my own little personal recession until I got all my credit cards and bills paid up (which took maybe 6 months). I recall my NICOR bill being around $1,000 for the Winter months of Dec. '05, Jan '06, & Feb '07.

When winter rolled back around the next year I literally declared war against NICOR. I lined every single window in my house with a tight layer of insulated plastic (check your local hardware stores) and then another loose layer of insulated plastic. I hung heavy blankets over those windows if it was not a well used area of the house. I shut down half of the farmhouse keeping doors closed and closing heating vents and also hanging blankets in some areas with no doors to control the hot air flow and trap it in the main living areas. I also bought about $200 worth of electric space heaters with temperature control gauges and used those as my primary heating source (I must warn you if you have children or are not at home space heaters are very capable of starting fires in your house if not careful).

By the time I got all my COMED & NICOR bills I saved around $500 as opposed to the winter before. My electric bill was much higher, but my NICOR bill was much, much lower. I also have to warn everyone: BE SURE TO MONITOR YOUR THERMS GAUGE OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. NICOR will usually estimate one bill & "read" your meter the next month. I don't know if this is the same everywhere, but at this farmhouse they never actually read the meter, they were always estimating. I had to go outside in the snow & check my meter, then call NICOR to get a correct bill sent out.

I have finally relocated away from the farm house, which was a sieve for hot air in the winter. I now reside in a townhouse made of brick, which is part of a large 3 unit structure. I am the middle unit and notice around a 10 degree difference right off the bat with no heat on. I have not resorted to the extremes of last year yet, but I will definitely supplant my natural gas heating source with a lot of electric heat as it is still much cheaper for now.

This may not affect every household, but right now is the time to get your house "winterized" because I believe the reports are that natural gas prices will be even higher this coming winter.

Nahikoa da, honaino ailegatu gara

Libiako liskarrak direla eta berriro ere gasolinaren prezioa igoko digute. Ez dut ulertzen: inork ez dit esplikatu, baina denok jasango ditugu honen ondorioak.
Zergatik petrolioarekiko menpekotasun hori?
Zergatik ez ditugu bestelako energia motak?
Zergatik gutxien irabazten dugunok sufritu behar dugu gehien?
Zergatiek, krisi garaiotan, gobernuek ez digute laguntzen gasolinaren igoera horiek guregan ondoriorik izan ez dezaten?
Galdera gehiegi eta "goitik" ez datorkigu erantzunik.
Agian garaia da hiritar arruntok ekimena izateko, Big Brother-i aurrea hartzeko.
Bai horixe!
Hasi gara bai, eta ikusiko duzue gure eroapena noraino ailegatzen den!
Zatoz gure iraultza zibiko honekin bat egitera.
